Having survived the threat of demolition in 1979 for a rapidly abandoned road scheme, the
Tivoli will celebrate ten successful years in November 2003. Following a lengthy campaign
to save the building, restoration could finally begin. All through 1993 volunteers worked
long and hard to get the building into a fit state to open to the public. The Tivoli now
has a permanent team who give their time to ongoing maintenance and further improvement of
the facilities.
