VanTrease Performing Arts Center for Education
Proscenium arch
The VanTrease PACE opened in September of 1996. It seats 1,500 patrons at a
maximum capacity, and the main level of seating holds just over 1,100, with 316 seats in
the balcony and 60 box seats. The hall houses the college's Music and Theatre Departments as well as the Signature Symphony at
TCC. In 2002 the PACE Expansion was opened adding a Recording Studio with
state-of-the-art equipment, a Black Box studio theatre, two dressing rooms, a large scene
shop with storage space, a welding shop, and a Rehearsal/Performance room with spring
board floors for dancers.
Since the opening gala of the PACE, with the
late Dudley Moore, it has hosted local performance companies such as Tulsa Ballet and
Tulsa Opera, the Fiddler Hall of Fame, as well as national and international touring
groups such as The Acting Company, Dave Brubeck and his Quartet, Theatre Beyond Words,
Chicago's Second City, and the Magic Bus. The PACE has twice hosted the Kennedy
Center American College Theatre Festival in 2006 and 2007.
The hall is
currently booked approximately 335 days per year and serves both the TCC community and the
Tulsa community at large. Bookings for new outside clients begin in March for the
fiscal year from July 1-June 30. Due to the nature of our business and bookings, we
cannot rent the facility on a continuing weekly basis.
