Since it first opened its doors in March 2004, the Eastgate Theatre and Arts Centre has become a well-loved part of the Peebles landscape, and a lively hub for arts activities in the Scottish Borders.
Over the past few years the theatre has established itself as a perfect platform both for established acts and for emerging talent, with a year round performance programme which ranges across music, drama, dance, comedy, and family shows.
There is a calendar of exhibitions in the studio, a popular film programme in the main auditorium, and a busy schedule of community events.
There are also regular classes in art, dance, drama and music throughout much of the year, and occasional workshops aiming to encourage participation in the arts by people of all ages.
The Eastgate's easily accessible foyer café is a popular meeting place for local residents and visitors alike – where they are assured of an excellent selection of drinks and snacks, as well as a warm welcome.
